On February 4, the woman’s body was discovered in a residence on 17th Avenue.

The RCMP in Prince George is now treating a woman’s death earlier this month as a murder.

On Saturday, February 4, just before one in the morning, Prince George RCMP received a call reporting the death of a woman inside a house in the 500 block of 17th Avenue. What was first deemed a suspicious death was the subject of investigations by the RCMP in Prince George and the B.C. Coroners Service.

According to RCMP spokesman Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, “Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit has taken the lead on this incident, which is now being investigated as a homicide.”

The B.C. Coroners Service is still looking into the tragedy on its own.

The RCMP and Coroners Service are withholding any additional information for the time being in order to safeguard the victim’s privacy.
