Cougars head coach Mark Lamb has won the titled of the B.C. Division Coach of the Year.

Prince George Cougars GM and head coach Mark Lamb was named the WHL BC Division Coach of the Year on Wednesday.

In addition, Lamb is one of the top contenders for the WHL Dunc McCallum Memorial Trophy for the WHL Coach of the Year.

 

“In his five seasons with the Cougars, the 2022-23 season has been Lamb’s most positive one posting a 37-24-6-1 record and locking up (fourth) spot in the Western Conference,” a statement issued by the Cougars said. “The 2022-23 season marks the fifth best regular season in the Cougars’ 29 years as a franchise. Lamb’s power-play was a main factor in the Cougar success this season, sporting the league’s second-best man benefit at 27.7 (per cent).”

Lamb and the Cougars are looking to win their best-of-seven, first-round playoff series against the Tri-City Americans. The Americans lead the series 2-1, ahead of tonight’s Game 4 at Toyota Centre in Kennewick, Wash.
