Dan Gallo, Prince George arm wrestler, was stimulated to donate to the Child Development Centre because of all the virtuous work he hears about them doing in the locality from his wife, Sadie, who works there.

Dan Gallo, an arm wrestler in Prince George, made a $5,000 donation to the Child Development Centre in Prince George on Wednesday because of all the good work he hears about the centre from his wife, Sadie, who works there.

“I just wanted to do something nice and I’m in a position that I can,” Gallo, who is a heavy duty mechanic, said. “I figured this is something nice I could do to help out.”

Darrell Roze, executive director of the Child Development Centre, said this is an amazing donation by a member of the community.

“We offer support to kids with special needs and those with developmental challenges,” Roze said. “The huge majority of our provincial money goes to paying for the experts who help the children and so the cash we are capable to raise or that is donated to us goes to specialized tools that help the children.”

“I just required doing something nice and I’m in a position that I can,” Gallo, who is a heavy duty mechanic, said. “I figured this is something nice I could do to help out.”

Darrell Roze, administrative director of the Child Development Centre, said this is an astonishing donation by a member of the community.

“We offer support to kids with special needs and those with developmental challenges,” Roze said. “The vast majority of our local money goes to paying for the professionals who help the kids and so the money we are capable to raise or that is donated to us goes to specialized tools that help the children.”

There are about 1,000 kids that get support from the Child Development Centre each year.

“Thank you so much to Dan, this is such a huge advantage to us and the kids in this community,” Roze said to Gallo.

The CDC has a tools loan program that allows families to use equipment that is often only needed for a short time. Borrowing equipment offers a way to lessen the economic burden for families.

Gallo invites anybody in the community to donate what they can to the Child Development Centre.
