Firearm produced during one encounter.

Dawson Creek RCMP is investigating a pair of similar burglaries from February and March of this year.

Both inquiries involve two different victims, who both began communicating with a person through an online dating app.

Once a meeting was prearranged, the doubtful would meet with the victim for a short period of time, then one or two assistants would arrive at the meeting place and the suspects would rob the victim. In one case, a gun was produced.

In each case, the suspect who originally connected with the victims has been recognized, however the other suspects involved are not yet known.

RCMP recommend meeting in a safe neutral public space prior to meeting a stranger in a private place.
